Over 50 years ago three University of Illinois engineering professors recognized a need for quality engineering services in Illinois, founding Clark Dietz, Inc.
Jim Clark, Gene Daily and Jess Dietz established our original office in Urbana, Illinois and focused primarily on transportation and civil projects, which included bridges on the original Interstate Highway System, as well as water and wastewater treatment plants throughout the Midwest. By the late 1970s Clark Dietz had become a recognized leader among Midwest-based civil engineering companies. The industry was growing, as were our clients' needs, motivating us to expand our services to include electrical, mechanical and structural design.
Our physical presence grew beyond central Illinois as we diversified our client base to include municipalities, government agencies, private corporations, health care providers and universities. Our growth continued when in 2007, Lang Associates of Wausau and Green Bay, Wisconsin joined Clark Dietz bringing significant additional capacity and expertise in the mechanical and electrical engineering areas. Farrar, Garvey and Associates of Indianapolis, Indiana also joined Clark Dietz late in 2007 bringing added strength in planning, design and construction management of transportation projects.
Over the years we have grown to become industry leaders in context sensitive solutions and design in transportation, construction engineering for transportation facilities, advanced water and wastewater treatment, combined sewer overflow control, sustainable/energy efficient mechanical and electrical systems and energy/power systems.
Today, Clark Dietz consists of over 100 professionals operating from offices in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. We are also consistently ranked among the leaders in engineering by nationally respected industry journals and periodicals.
